Final #23 Things Summarizing My Thoughts

I actually enjoyed the majority of the excercises. One of my favorite discoveries was creating my own avatar on the MEEZ. Of course, play week was the best. I also thought the idea of downloading ebooks on a variety devices was interesting because I do listen to talking books from time to time, but only in my car. This program gave me more of an opportunity to have more experience with further technology learning that I have not had the chance to explore. I did not realize how easy blogging could be. . But one thing that I did not expect to do was to register at every site in order to get through the program, but I guess, for some of them, that would be the only way to have a hands on experience. I probably would still participate in another program like this because it was a learning process for me. Thanks for the experience, I feel a more up to date with some uses of technology, that is, educational and a little playtime.

Week #9 Discover You Tube and a few sites that allow you upload video

You Tube has many varieties of entertainments, I agree, some interesting and some not so interesting. I thought the Travel & Places category was kind of interesting because you can get to see different places around the world as real as you can see it. Polynesian Islands look sweet. It would be nice to sip on a margarita on one of those hotel balconies about now.
I thought the Podcast Alley was interesting because you find useful information on just about anything from recreation to educational subjects.

As far as learning about downloadable audio books, I did find some sites were kind of more limited than others when it came to finding certain titles or authors. I did feel comfortable locating some subjects and authors on the Mayland's Digital eLibrary Consortium. I ended up with more ebooks in my bookbag than I noticed. These ebook sites should be very nice for people who can't always make it to the library as often as others. There is just about every subject available that you can imagine.

Week #8 Take a look at some productivity tools

Well, I created my accounts for both websites, ZohoWriter and GoogleDocs, and tried some features. I liked using the ZohoWriter better than the GoogleDoc, but to each his own. If you are really into using Microsoft Office tools, I think it's another unique way to communicate thoughts amongst each other and actually go back and see who edited what and when it was done. The Web 2.0 Awards site is, to me, a fun way to find some interesting sites.

Week #7 Wikis

I thought Wikis was just about editing resources, but I did discover some unique things like getting directions though links of different places and also linking to different sites like medicines and mathmetic resources. Maryland Libraries Sandbox and pbwikis seems to be a unique tool to use to communicate when using projects for students and agendas for companies.

Week #6 Tagging, Folksonomies, & Technorati

As far as Del.icio.us, it seems to be a neat tool to use if a person would need it for researching because you are able to find tags that you might have not thought of that other users have. I like the Technorati page where it has a listings of all of the popular searches, blogs, videos, etc. It's another way of keeping up with what most people are interested in. Libraries 2.0 is another way individuals can see what tools libraries are able to use and what could be expected in the future.

Week #5 Play Week

< MEEZ is a very good site to find interesting avatars. You can be very creative.
I also enjoyed creating my own library catalogue on LibraryThing. I can see it being a great way of keeping track of books that's been read and maybe even get related or similiar types of books to read from other people in the talk room. I made my account with ROLLYO and create a search roll, but still trying to figure out how to use it.

Subscribe with Bloglines

Well, I have officially signed on and have a Blogline and a MERLIN account. It seems to be an interesting site where you can find as much as news you need to find. I got kind of confuse on the MERLIN site.
